Mountain tourism
It is not for nothing that Armenia is called “mountainous”. More than 90% of the territory of the republic is located at an altitude of more than 1000 m, and about half are located at an altitude of more than 2000 m above sea level.
The mountains of Armenia are not just “heights” that the traveller strives to conquer solely for the sake of result, it is also an amazing world with a unique climate, inhabitants and history that is inextricably linked with human history, since the prehistoric times. Numerous archaeological monuments are the evidence of ancient cults and beliefs, samples of the creative heritage, in which the world outlook of our ancestors is reflected. All these are the mountains of Armenia.

Mount Aragats
Mount Aragats (4090m) is the highest point of modern Armenia. It is a dormant “four-headed” volcano, each of which is the end point of routes of various degrees of complexity.

Lake Kari
Located at an altitude of 3200m, Lake Kari (Stone) is fascinating… The lake is a kind of “transit point” for storming the peak of Mount Aragats.
